How is the course delivered?
Training is delivered via Blended Learning (Face-to-Face and Online Distance) + Vocational Placement.
Course Duration: This course is designed to be completed up to 76 weeks (including 4-week holiday break).
Expected Study Hours: Typical learners are expected to spend up to 1,522 hours depending on existing knowledge, skills, and experience.

What will you learn?
This course is designed to develop your expertise in early childhood education. Among others, you will learn to:
- Support children’s health, safety and wellbeing
- Develop positive and respectful relationships with children
- Meet legal and ethical obligations in children’s education and care
How is the course structured?
All learners will be assessed through:
- Observation during on-the-job or role play/simulation (OS)
- Questioning may include self-assessment, verbal answers, written questionnaires, activity modules or interview (Q)
- Third party (TP)
- Structured Activities may include Projects, Case studies, presentations, role play, demonstration, progressive tasks (SA)
- Credit transfer
What are the entry requirements?
Students must be:
- Are 18 years of age and over
- Are living or working in Australia
- Have successfully completed at least Australian high school year 10, or equivalent
- Have basic computer skills
- Have sound Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills
- Have a current and valid Blue Card, Working with Children Check (WWCC) or Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration recognised in the state/territory of your vocational placement provider, or be eligible to obtain this requirement**
*Learners who do not meet the LLN requirements may still enrol into the course provided the enrolment has been endorsed by the trainer and corresponding additional support strategies have been put in place.
** Learners who do not have their Blue Card, WWCC, or WWVP prior to enrolment must apply for and obtain this requirement before commencing their vocational placement as required by this course. Early Education Institute to provide Vocational Placement for learners, including access to:
- Vocational workplace supervisor(s) to supervise and confirm completion of the required tasks included in the Skills Workbook. The workplace supervisor must:

- Have adequate knowledge and understanding of early childhood education and care
- Have the necessary experience and qualification(s) in the area of early childhood education and care (e.g. you have the relevant VET qualification/s, Certificate III in Early Education and Care or higher)

- an indoor environment
- an outdoor environment
- eating areas equipped with tables, chairs, utensils
- food preparation area
- drinking water
- handwashing facilities
- personal protective equipment
- indoor and outdoor play areas
- sleeping and rest areas equipped with beds and linen
- sun protection materials
- toilet facilities
- toys and other play equipment
- information technology for research, record keeping and documentation
- bathroom equipped with age-adjusted toileting equipment
- equipment for eating, nappy changing, play and sleeping
- Children and educators in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia:
- Children between the ages of birth and six years
- Babies and toddlers under the age of 23 months
- Educators and supervisors for collaboration (must be an approved early childhood educator)
To complete your course, you will need ongoing access to the following:
